The artists who contributed work to the Art Institute’s annual Artists' Valentines exhibition were invited. A percentage of the sale of their works went to support the school. It was customary for Faculty to create small works for this exhibition.

Caydance herself had contributed book objects; sat in the courtyard drinking white wine, and, while orange fish swam in the blue and white-tiled courtyard pool, listened to the sound of William Wiley's band.

valentines poster Purchased at this exhibition, among the works Sido owned was the painted music box that now resided in Caydance's studio. The whole reminded her of Alison Moritsugu's marvelous paintings on fallen logs. It was not as perfect as Moritsugu's work, but concealed in the music box, Sido found an authentic late 15th Century or early 16th Century Book of Hours.
