"I have news of Pete Lafitte. Yesterday, I retrieved my complete set of the back issues of the Dartmouth Alumni Magazine from the attic where your Mother had confined them. One by one, beginning in 1940, I went through the alumni news. I found nothing until December 1947.
And then, there it was." Mac O'Brien paused.
"As was and still is the custom of my fellow alumni, Pete Lafitte had contributed a brief note announcing the birth of his and his wife Merry Joliat Lafitte's daughter, Anne-Merry Lafitte.
No address was given, but we now know three things: that Pete survived the War; the name of the woman whom he married; and the name of their daughter."
