On the Sports Bar monitor, Public Address Announcer Roy Steele introduced the Blue Jays Coach and Team. The camera panned the stands. Caydance looked for Sido in the audience, but did not see her. Neither Griff nor AKA Harvey and Abigail had arrived. She poured herself a beer from the pitcher; watched A's coach Tony La Russa run onto the field, followed by Rickey Henderson and Carney Lansford. She did not notice that the men approaching her table were not Griff or Harvey.

Three men sat down uninvited at her table. With horror, she saw that -- older, more dangerous looking -- the man directly facing her was Mackey Alarie, He pulled out a knife. "Me and my friends are here to make you pay for the loss of three years of my life," he said.

No one in the bar noticed the unwelcome men at her table. Dave Stewart easily set down the first three batters. The two men flanking Alarie grabbed the pitcher, poured themselves glasses of beer, moved their chairs closer to Caydance. Bottom of the first; Rickey Henderson was at bat. "Breaking ball misses inside. The Major League stolen base leader is aboard." Cheers erupted in the bar. Caydance looked up and saw AKA Harvey approaching. She slid under the table.
