When Griff McGuire received the offer for Head Coach at Huygens Tech, three other offers were buried under law books on his beach house table: Assistant Coach at a Tennessee high school, in an area where good players often emerged; Head Coach at an Iowa high school in a picturesque cornfield where the salary was low, but houses were affordable; Offense Coach at a Central Valley university, where the roster included NFL draft prospects, but the distance to San Francisco was 300 miles.
