"Last night, while Yuri was inside the coach's cottage, your brother-in-law was on lookout at my place when, with a keyring of assorted skeleton keys, a man attempted to enter your cottage. Immediately, Jack alerted security. It was Jon's territory. Additionally, catching the intruder in the act of illegal entry was needed in case Yuri forgot the 'no guns on the campus' policy. Sirens silent, Jon and his deputy were on the way.
"Just as one of the intruder's keys opened the door, the clearly marked Huygens security vehicle drove directly up to the cottage door, blocking the suspect's escape. He ran into the cottage, slammed the door, bolted it from the inside. Probably, he intended to go out a window, run through the woods, and reach his car, which was discovered parked down the road near the college entrance."
In the lodge breakfast room, which overlooked the Rogue River, Griff and Durango's orders of country sausage, biscuits, and eggs arrived. "The intruder was probably surprised to see Yuri," Griff commented.
"According to Yuri, an opportunity to practice hockey push and shove was welcome, and somehow the intruder's head slammed into the side of your wife's artist's desk. Briefly unconscious, he fell to the floor. Jon and Drake cuffed the burglar. Jon called his brother, a high level officer at the Woodside Police Station, and now your cottage is clear. Yuri informs you that no art works were harmed in the process."
Griff buttered the warm biscuits that lay on his plate. "A stolen manuscript dealer is in custody. What do we need to practice this morning?"
