Emerging from the weightroom, moving across Presidents yard, and down the hill onto the field, running together like a scene from a movie, wearing comfortable shorts and new practice jerseys, the entire Huygens football team crossed the field, where standing together Griff, Durango, Kekoa, Robbie, and Peggy were waiting.

By tradition, the Friday walkthrough was a choreographed practice. Secrets of walkthrough plans were not widely shared by coaches. Griff's knowledge of the mysterious ways to choreograph a walkthrough was limited. Nevertheless, the opening kickoff to the Friday walkthrough was drama-laden, he thought as conscious of the power of the whistle he wore, he watched his players run across the field.

With a formidable array of tackle equipment, Kekoa directed player to tackle dummy contact, while on Griff's side, there was a satisfactory flurry of quarterbacks passing the ball to running backs and throwing the ball to wide receivers.

The highlight of the Friday walkthrough would occur when following a dramatic kickoff, the entire team would walk through core plays together. That was when -- as if by magic -- the team cohered. The initial kickoff for the entire team walkthrough would begin when Griff blew his whistle.
