The roar of a Police Montée Canadienne helicopter shattered this peaceful mountain scene. Unzipping his parka to reveal his SKA Leningrad jersey, Yuri told the Gendarmerie Montée how the man who lay on the ice had at gunpoint threatened the respected owner of the Lodge La Belle Montagne.
"Wow! Did you play with Lavrov, Vlasov, Teplyakov, and Khalizov?"
"And also with Drozdetsky, Maslov, and Goalie Kirill Korenkov -- as a Cultural Attache gesture of good will when the team was short-handed."
This conversation might have continued for hours, but at that very moment, Nico emerged from the Lodge with a copy of his agency's rap sheet for El Ladron.
"'l'Intégrité des frontières Une frontière sécuritaire assure la protection de la population canadienne contre diverses menaces criminelles,'"('Border integrity is a crucial piece of Canada's national security, protecting Canadians from a host of criminal threats,')" the helicopter pilot informed Yuri, Pete, and Nico. "The next stop for this thief is Prison de Bordeaux, which we also call the Montreal Detention Centre."
A little later in old Montreal, Caydance, Griff, Genevieve, and Claude were walking from their hotel to his Grandmother's apartment. It would be the first time Griff had seen his grandmother since his senior year in High School.
In the far distance, heading West in the sky was a Gendarmerie Montée helicopter. "Another man is about to be deposited in the notorious Prison de Bordeaux," Genevieve remarked.
