Three Volunteer Assistant Coaches were waiting for new Head Coach Griff McGuire when he arrived in the Huygens Tech lunch room. Sitting at a central table were Offensive Line Coach, theoretical physicist Durango Palacio-Earle; Defense coach, Kekoa Alualu, a computer science Professor (former Cornerback, University of Hawaii at Manoa); and Special Teams Coach, Robbie O'Arragan, an Irish engineer, who had played soccer for Republic of Ireland. The student assistant coach, Peggy Abigail Adams, a biology major from Boston, would not arrive until school began.
The lunch room was encircled with large windows from which different views to the surrounding hills were visible. His hot pastrami sandwich on Rye was piled high with pastrami, cheese, and sauerkraut. Mustard and Russian Dressing were abundant, but there was no beer, a situation to which Griff was not accustomed.
Durango produced the tentative depth chart. "I don't see a kicker", Griff observed. Robbie reached over, took the depth chart, penciled in Will O'Arragan, Junior, University College Dublin. "My nephew will be arriving soon. I think he is what you call a 'ringer'".
Griff smiled. "how did you convince him to transfer here?" he asked.
