Meanwhile, Abigail had stopped skiing midway down the slope. In order to adjust her hat, she took it off, just as the three thugs came up the hill in a snowmobile. Abigail skied into a dense pine woods that bordered the hill. She took a path through the trees that was wide enough for her but not wide enough for a thug-loaded skimobile.

Skiing a semi-out of control snowplow, AKA Harvey came into view. A gang of men were chasing his wife! He fell gracefully; removed his skis. The three thugs were focused on catching Abigail, and they did not see him. Abigail maneuvered skillfully through the woods. The snowmobile crashed into a tree.

In a row behind the snowmobile, the three thugs attempted to pull it from the tree. Long ago, a coach had set an exercise that involved executing body slams on three tackling dummies in a row. Harvey had always wanted to try this on the football field. Here -- just as he wished for -- was a perfect opportunity. Harvey smiled.

If the thugs had broken in their L.L. Bean boots as Alarie had advised, they would not have abandoned them for city street shoes. The ski boots Harvey was wearing were not easy to walk in, but they adequately stabilized his body.

One. Two. Three. All the thugs were lying on the ground. "It is illegal to drive a snowmobile without wearing a helmet", Harvey commented. It was also illegal, according to NFL rules, to use your helmet as a weapon whether or not you were wearing it, but the penalty was only 15 yards. AKA Harvey removed his ski helmet.
