Rainbow Cheng: Illumination

Inspired by the work of Margaret O'Rorke, a woman ceramicist working with thin translucent porcelain and light systems for years. I would like to combine my translucent porcelain pieces with led lights and light fibers to create a hanging installation...The process of making ceramic artworks is full of changing and uncertainty, just like bittersweet moments in a relationship...I want to express the feeling of lovers comforting each other during hard times. So I combine the translucent porcelain pieces with led lights and light fibers to create a hanging installation.

It's combined of translucent porcelain, LED lights, fish wire, metal, and plastic fibers. Altogether 24 casting porcelain dolls in this piece. Each pair has a different interaction and story in it.
