The last time Griff had been in Humboldt County, he was seven years old on a trip to Redwood National Park with his Mother and Father. Along the way, based on past statistics, his Father was computing the mathematical possibility of an occurrence of sighting Big Foot on this weekend. "A Big Foot sighting in Humboldt County would be only a little more likely than it would be up the road in Canada", his Mother observed.
There were dark scary shadows in the woods beside the isolated road.
This time it would be Rangers Coach Big Bobbie, the Rangers D-Line, and a challenging road trip night with his football team at a motel near the Humboldt County Fairgrounds.
In the Huygens Football Office this Monday morning, Griff was remembering the Sac Valley victory weekend with Caydance at his beach house. He would have liked to stay in bed or meet Caydance for lunch -- instead of meeting to discuss road trip details with Huygens’ new Athletic Director, Kekoa's brother, Akoni Alualu.
But, at lunchtime Caydance was heading to the campus of the University of California at Berkeley, where the previous year she had worked with the University Archivist on the Provenance of a French book of Hours.
