“Suddenly Infocom was no longer releasing new games. That is why we spent the summer playing Super Mario Bros 3," Right Defensive Tackle Darnell Terrell Medina informed Coach McGuire.
With Darnell -- underneath the "Welcome Football Team" banner on Presidents House lawn -- was Left Defensive Tackle Noah Bailey.
"Hi Coach. DT means in the intervals when we weren't doing weight training and bulking up on barbeque and fried chicken."
If Griff had ever played Super Mario 3 , he would not be wondering whether or not this game was educational for Defensive Tackles, but Coach McGuire was not well versed in computer game culture.
"Super Mario Bros is a good game for Defensive Tackles," Darnell explained. “Also, over and over we watched the educational film Joe Greene -- Career Highlights that AKA Harvey sent us on Noah's birthday".
Whenever he remembered meeting Mean Joe Greene on the field of play, Griff's knee began to hurt. "Weight training is good", he remarked.
