Coach Sebo’s suggestion of a game film exchange at brunch in a Woodside restaurant was a welcome idea, Griff was thinking -- when Yuri and a young woman, who was definitely not Yuri's art history adjunct professor girlfriend, entered the football team office.

"This wonderful surprise is Phoebe, sent by your Mother to be Women's Skating Coach."

Griff gazed with interest at Phoebe. "Good to meet you, Phoebe."

"Yuri has been helping me move into my new quarters, and on Friday night, Dejean, who told me that he is the only French player on your team, took me dancing."

"I understand from my Mother that your boyfriend was drafted by the Kings, and when the hockey season begins next month, he will play on the same team as Wayne Gretzky," Griff remarked.
