"We won the toss, but we elected to defend. We had a surprise for the Swifts with which we wanted to begin the second half". Griff paused to decide if he wanted to have a second beer or open the champagne. "Durango is alone," Caydance remarked in the sudden quiet. "Do you want to call him and ask if he would like to join us for dinner?".

Sharing his evening with Caydance with Durango was not what Griff had in mind. "Do we have enough food?"

"Yes, if you will eat the salad." Soon Griff was pouring champagne for Durango.

"So there you were watching the Swifts open the game."

"I was planing to skip the part where they put their Cornerback in the receiving team, and he caught the kickoff and ran almost half the field."

Mira did not encourage football talk; Durango picked up the story. "In the first quarter with no huddle, the Swifts dominated. When we had the ball, River took us down the field, but my O-line was moving slowly. Maybe it was the amount of bacon, eggs, sausage, waffles and maple syrup that was available in their cafeteria. It was halftime in the game story when Caydance and Griff served roast chicken, potatoes and Caesar salad. The score was Swifts 21 - Huygens 13. "DeJuan scored our only touchdown with an acrobatic catch and a spectacular run. There were scouts in the stands I told him," Griff remarked. "Let's save the second half for dessert."

After dinner, Griff made ice cream sundaes; Caydance served coffee. Suddenly the doorbell rang.
