On the morning of the Sacramento Valley game, two chartered busses carrying the Huygens Tech football team were on the road to Sacramento Valley College. Inside the Huygens Tech President's house, Caydance O’Brien and Mira Palacio-Earle were drinking French Roast coffee, eating warm peach cobbler, looking out the window at the empty space where the men and the buses had been.

A black van pulled up beside the coach's cottage. "Do you know who that is?"

"No."

Mira picked up the phone. “Jon, can you drive the security car around to the coach's cottage and check out a suspicious black van?"

A well-marked Huygens security patrol car approached the cottage. The black van took off down the road.
